This will be Karl's 17th season coaching youth volleyball. He has coached from middle school to varsity high school, club teams from 12's to 15's, and worked on the coaching staff for high school girls volleyball camps including Wake Forest and the University of North Carolina Wilmington. He has played the sport for over 20 years as well. Karl is always studying and, when possible, playing, and seeking additional knowledge and improvement to better his individual or team performance.

Karl's coaching philosophy is to always find the right balance between developing players for their future in volleyball and being successful in their current season. Among his most exciting coaching moments have been winning the Missouri State Championship when at St. Pius X High School with Inger Condit and coaching Highlands Performance 12U and 13U teams to both win bids and compete in the Junior Nationals.
